Just Another Day At Work

What a wonderful and productive day we had yesterday! All five work crews set out again with the goal to catch up from the delays we experienced on the first day. All teams were able to finish their first homes and say a prayer with the families. Such a rewarding part of the construction process when we are able to see the difference this small structure will make in their lives! Throughout the entire building process the family will eagerly look on and when you are finally ready to turn the house over, there are tears of joy and gratitude in their eyes and of course ours too. Like the commercial says - it´s priceless.

All the crews were moved to another site when they finished their first one and began a second house. They are in various stages of completion and will be finished today with hopefully more houses. We also will be having a group of people stay back at the hotel and unpack/sort all the vacation bible school materials and begin sorting through the medicines. Our first VBS will be tomorrow so there is a lot of organization needed to get ready for a successful VBS.

As I write the morning blogs each day, trying to summarize the previous days events, you begin to notice a repetitve theme to our daily work. It is easy to see while you are in Honduras what our mission is and who is our mission field. However, our mission is more than building a house, dispensing medicine or food. Our mission is to be a witness for Christ. By the tasks we are doing, hopefully the Honduran people will see by our love and hope in Christ, they too will come to know the love of Christ. All of us have a mission field wherever we are and wherever we work. We pray that God will bless our work today and give us the strength to accomplish our mission today.

Kate,
We had so much rain last night, Pepper slept under me. So, this morning HE's sleeping. I'm getting ready for the ladies to come over for "movie night". I made homemade bread and peach trifle. I'll make you some when you come home. Forgot to tell you that you are officially a SENIOR. Grades were good - GPA came up. Start asking everyone where they went to school and get ideas. I know you wish you had that poncho. Daddy will write - he can't seem to get a blog through - I may have to be his "tech" advisor. Now, we're both in trouble.
Have a good day and know we love you. Mom

Suzanne and all the Youth Missions:
Even though we are not there to participate, we share in all your work and God's blessing to enable you to stay strong and accomplish all that you are doing. All here is pretty mundane, Adam has filled his time entertaining Daniel and seems to be enjoying the effort. Your kitchen cabinet (sample) came in and Jim came by and opened it. It is without question the most beautiful cabinet I have ever seen. Just gorgeous!!!Jim has run out of jobs and seems a LITTLE bored.Lot of crossword puzzles. Of course, with all my beading I am not bored, just the normal. Remember we love you and pray for your safe return. Love, jan

So happy that you got to finish a house and move onto the second. For all you kid soccer fans I heard on the news tonight that Tampa is getting it's own soccer team. Apparently, they use to have one called the rowdies and that is going to be the name of the new team. Anyway, have a productive day tomorrow! Love to Chris and Heather. Where is my message Chris? God Bless! Love to all! Beverley. (Mum)

Moots (Gina B.) - Great pic of you on the roof, I love the smile! At this point, Reezie has nothing else to say (ha ha). It's a little after 10pm and your girl is in bed, but said a sweet prayer for you tonight. We continue to miss you and look forward to you getting home. We love you very much! -Matthew
