Whose Battle Is It?

Yesterday we were able to do everything outlined on the iteneray that Keith had planned. We went to Union for church and the growth of the congregation from last year was noticeable in the standing room only and people standing in the doorway! Praise God! Just as services were starting, the remaining 6 members from Northwest arrived safe and sound (finally) to worship with us in Union. It was a great service with Estaban preaching the sermon and Gabriel interpreting. Men from the local congregation and from our group offered prayers and served the communion. The singing was wonderful as we each sang to each other while holding hands. Truely reminds you that one day we will all be worhiping together in heaven someday and be able to understand each other.

We than went to La Cumbre for a delicious lunch and beautiful view from the top of the mountain. Afterwards, we sped thru the Valley of Angels with some people doing some major power shopping. The Valley of Angels is a local flea market with souvenirs which many of you will be seeing I'm sure! We than traveled to Santa Lucia and went inside the church in this town that was built in 1650 and sang songs for about 30 minutes before church services started. Beautiful. Our final and last stop was at the food court at the mall for dinner. Kids and adults alike loaded up on fast food and after many bus rides we ended our day at the hotel with a devotional. Another great day completed.

We have talked a lot in our devotionals about perseverence and team work. Two vital attitudes if we want to be successful in Honduras. We all are reminded that the battle is not ours, but the Lord's. We just need to remember that God will solve our problems and we need to let him solve it. When we are a child of God's, then our problems are his problems. And he is much better at fighting our battles and solving our problems than we will ever be. Our job is to trust him to work it all out. It doesn't all depend on us! We CAN relax in faith, trusting God to run things without our help. So we will continue our work here, resisting discouragement and fear, knowing that God does not lose battles. God has been so faithful to us. We are living his promises daily.

As we contine to build houses today, visit the hospital and begin to sort and bag food, we will count on God's promises and faithfulness.

Kate,
It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood. Actually got up and walked today. I'm trying to get out of my slump. Hopefully, by the time you get back, our monsoon days will be over, and you will be able to work (money). Everyone asked about you at church yesterday. Still job searching and waiting for you to come home. Work hard, make us proud! We love you, xoxo Mom

For PJ for Mom

Good morning love.... No lizards or frogs in the house this weekend... God is Good!

Had loads of empty seats at this Sunday's worship services with all of you gone, but that left more room for the visitors. and there were quite a few. The sermon was excellent (messing up was the theme). Praise God He loves us even thru our mess ups, right!

Counting the days til your return and loving you dearly. I am so humbled by the work that you are all doing for the Lord.

In Him, Momma

Ah! Thank you so much for making my day! I love the picture of my children. And of course all the others too. We are happy to hear the rest of the team arrived safely. Heather thank you for the email, i'm so happy that you are getting to use your spanish. I knew you would! I know you were very happy to go to lu cumbre. I hope you are taking pictures. Grandad called yesterday and said Richard and Lisa are having another baby. It's due in January, hopefully my birthday. I wonder if they call her Jill. Wouldn't that be funny? Well keep up the great work! Chris you too. Dad and I love you both dearly.
God Bless! Love to everyone! Beverley. (Mum)
P.S. We went to see Get Smart at the movie yesterday. You should have heard Dad laughing, he was worse than me Chris.

soooooooooo discouraging on the prices. But you will have wheels

Mom and Dad,
(a.k.a. Bob and Jan Matthews)

It looks like so much good work is taking place in Honduras, not to mention alot of fun being had. It must feel so good to see the smiles on the faces of the little ones and families when they see the "gifts" they have been given.

Tigger is being fed well and bringing home nice "treats" from his explorations.

Dad, I hope you are taking it easy and letting those strong Wesley Chapel graduates do all of the strenous work. It makes me very proud to see CJ and Vince having fun and promoting such a worthy cause. Go Wildcats!

Mom, Cade proudly tells everyone he has a job (Feline Keeper) and has even tried to hire one of my teachers to do his homework so that he didn't have to and was willing to pay them with the big bucks he is making.

We have gotten lots of well needed rain.. which of course, put a damper on Cade's golf tournament. It probably was a good thing since he lost 2 balls to the water hazards and that was just on the first hole. He is definitely in need of "Papa Tiger's" guidance for his next tournament in July.

Continue having a good time and a safe time. Love to all,

Craig, Jennifer and Cade

George or anyone else reading my last post. That "forget about all the others" was intended to mean weeks in the year not everybody there. Just wanted to clear that up as someone mentioned I didnt make a whole lot of sense. Hope all are doing well and praying for your safety and strength.
